Porcelain veneers are a hard, thin covering that is laid over the front of a tooth. Porcelain veneers are usually fitted on the front teeth to smooth out jagged edges, hide severely discolored teeth, or smooth out uneven spaces. We customize veneers for your smile to look natural alongside your other teeth. We can apply porcelain veneers in a simple, painless process that usually takes just a few visits.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile and are often alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating some dental conditions.
Your smile is usually the first thing people notice. If you dissatisfied with the way your front teeth appear, then porcelain veneers might be an option for you. We treat with porcelain veneers for a number of reasons, including:
To create a uniform, white, beautiful smile
To straighten crooked teeth
To correct the shape of teeth
To correct unwanted or uneven spaces
To cover severely discolored or stained teeth
To treat worn or chipped teeth
Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process, with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure. The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. We take a dental impression of your teeth and then choose a color shade that will best suit your smile.
On the second visit, your teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer, and a special light is used to harden and set the bond.
With proper brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits your veneers should last many years. As with all dental restorations, they may need to be replaced.
